Policy in Practice is shortlisted for an ERSA Employability Award 2017, Innovation category, sponsored by entitledto Policy in Practice is delighted to have been named as a finalist for the ERSA Employability Awards 2017 in the Innovation Award category.

The Employability Awards, sponsored by Clarion Housing Group and now in their fourth year, celebrate and champion best practice from across the employment support sector. This year the awards were judged by Nick Butler from the Department for Work and Pensions; Andy Cook from the Centre for Social Justice; and Christine Chang from Big Society Capital.

Policy in Practice was nominated for the Innovation Award, sponsored by entitledto, recognising our Better Off Calculator. The calculator is so comprehensive, fast and easy to use that customers and advisors don’t have to be experts to explain the welfare system. We model over 4,000 pieces of legislation across four government departments to show how policy affects people on low incomes. This software is in the vanguard of technical development for tackling poverty effectively, having been designed to build financial resilience and improve the prospects of people.
