We require a highly capable, motivated and public-service-orientated Head of Policy with a proven track record in at least one of local government, social security policy or quantitative research, with a desire to operate across all three.

Our goals are to improve and empower the lives of low income families. You will be accountable to the senior leadership team for driving our policy impact and ensuring our insights deliver practical impact on the frontline through our products.

You will oversee the delivery of our policy output to our core market sectors and ensure our products and our analytical insights meet the needs of central and local government professionals.

Product Manager – Better Off Calculator

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the Better Off Calculator in its next phase of growth, delivering new developments and strategic client projects. You will work closely with the Chief Product Officer and Senior Welfare Expert to improve the product and outcomes for people who use the calculator for themselves or their customers.

There are exciting projects on the horizon, so we are looking for a self starter seeking a fast paced environment where they can make a difference. In this role, you'll apply robust research methodologies to conduct quantitative analysis, ensuring data collection, validation, and processing meet high standards for our reports, blogs and publications. Welfare Policy and Data Analyst

As a Welfare Policy and Data Analyst, you will join the team delivering and improving our products to drive ever greater value and impact for our users. Youโ€™ll be key to projects and data analysis where your role will be to get the most out of the data we use to generate insights and recommendations to policy decision makers.

In this role, you'll ensure the accuracy, usability and timely delivery of our core products, LIFT and the Better Off Calculator. You'll support the testing and development of our software and analytics tools, while also presenting our services to clients to inform them about our work. Training new users, both in person and through online webinars, will be part of your responsibilities.

Additionally, you'll deliver analysis for local authority clients and contribute to research, presentations and publications focused on policies impacting low income households. Your role will involve analysing large datasets to extract meaningful policy insights and conducting rapid research on relevant policy debates to produce content for blog posts, the website, and social media.

Business and Account Manager

As a Business and Account Manager you will play a key role in driving sales and achieving targets by selling Policy in Practiceโ€™s four core products.

Your primary target clients will be local authorities, housing associations, and Citizens Advice offices, with secondary targets in third sector and private sector organisations as advised.

You will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, which varies between three to twelve months, ensuring consistent achievement of monthly sales targets. Additionally, you will focus on client retention and renewals, while identifying relevant upsell opportunities to maximise long term value.

Success in this role will require:
- Proactive relationship management, cultivating long term partnerships with clients
- Strong prospecting skills, including a minimum of five unique effective sales calls per day to build your pipeline
- Handling objections with confidence, developing and refining sales scripts and processes that can be shared with the wider sales team
- A consultative sales approach, identifying client pain points and aligning our solutions through insightful questioning and critical listening

While youโ€™ll be part of a wider collaborative team, this role requires a high degree of autonomy. You will report directly to the Commercial Director, ensuring structured oversight, clear accountability, and effective reporting. Strong organisation, record keeping, and time management will be essential.

Weโ€™re looking for a highly capable, motivated and public service orientated Client Services Manager, with experience working in the public sector or with a proven track record in a similar or related sector. You will report directly to the Service Manager of Client Services as a core member of our expanding Growth team. Youโ€™ll own the client management role from start to finish, ensuring that we deliver excellent services to our clients.

You will operate at various levels within our client base and must therefore be able to influence at the highest level and build senior relationships quickly. You will work alongside our vibrant team of social policy experts, software technicians and data analysts to provide outstanding service and product delivery, leaving clients delighted.

Your main focus will be to promote our consultancy and software products to contribute to the sales and renewal targets. You will build relationships with decision makers, deliver and oversee the successful use of our LIFT platform, ensuring our clients are able to turn insight into impact.

Youโ€™ll be recognised as a trusted advisor by our clients and your work will deepen relationships and secure repeat business with identifiable opportunities in local and central government.
