Efficient and sustainable employment support: Blueprints for a data-led, holistic strategy
23 June 2026
Traditional employment support often focuses too narrowly on securing a job, ignoring the complex barriers like debt, financial instability, and mental health that cause residents to drop off early. Without comprehensive wraparound care, even highly motivated individuals struggle to build the foundational stability and mental readiness needed to return to work, leaving local teams responding to crises rather than preventing them.
In this webinar, we explored how to bridge this gap with a practical blueprint for holistic, early intervention. Featuring insights from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Shaw Trust, we discussed how to use data and technology to proactively target residents before they hit a breaking point and track continuous, real-world progress. By combining employment coaching with income maximisation and multidisciplinary care, organisations can drastically reduce programme drop-off and guide residents seamlessly toward sustainable employment.

Guest speakers
“You cannot tackle unemployment alone. Housing, debt, income maximisation, training and safeguarding all play a role, and if you don't address those wider issues, you're never going to achieve the employment outcomes you want.”
“Triaging beyond a resident’s presenting need is a real art. Proactive outreach is only as good as the data you have, and understanding when people are ready to work requires time, effort and access to the right support around them.”
“Digital is core to making all of this work. We're aiming to take two hours per day of admin-based tasks away from frontline advisers through technology, giving them more time to spend with individuals. Tools like the Better Off Calculator are fundamental, helping people see the gain they can make from moving into employment and claiming what they're entitled to.”
