Each year, billions of pounds in financial support go unclaimed by people who are eligible to receive it.

This webinar shared the headline findings from our third annual Missing Out report, including updated figures and key trends from the past year. For the first time, our analysis includes a local breakdown of unclaimed support for each local authority in Great Britain, helping you understand the picture in your area.

Hear from a panel of frontline organisations across sectors who are working to close the gap.

Whether you work in policy, delivery or support, this session will help you understand the scale of the issue, methods that are working to address it and what more can be done.

“The Better Off Calculator has helped over 1.2 million people to identify over £2 billion in unclaimed benefits. LIFT campaigns have helped over 62,000 households to become better off by more than £77 million last year. The lifetime impact of those campaigns is about half a billion pounds, from just 12 months of work.”

“LIFT has been instrumental in helping us target and reach people we couldn’t before. It gives councils the speed and ability to focus on residents who aren’t coming forward for help, which is vital for tackling poverty, especially during the cost of living crisis.”

“For us at Nationwide, the motivation came from knowing there’s this pot of money people aren’t aware they’re eligible for, and asking how we could use our trusted brand to help. We’re playing in that awareness space. The more that everyone does, it will compound and make an impact on the overall number, helping to chip away at that £24 billion in unclaimed benefits."
