Extended Payments

Also known as the ‘run on’, these are additional payments of council tax reduction award. When a claimant moves into work or increases working hours above 16 hours per week, subject to certain qualifying conditions, payments of benefit are made at the out-of-work rate for a four-week period. The Welsh Government allowed Welsh local authorities to extend this grace period for council tax reduction awards if they chose, but none have.
