Bringing the lived experience of poverty to Westminster

Deven Ghelani

Deven Ghelani Published on 11th July 2017

People with first-hand experience of poverty led the discussion on how best to address the problems of poverty and insecurity in the UK recently, at an event held in the heart of Westminster. Hosted by The Webb Memorial Trust and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Poverty, Deven Ghelani was invited to join other speakers to hear people reflecting on the day-to-day realities of changes to out-of-work benefits over the last five years.

The event, From poverty to security: developing solutions grounded in the expertise of experience, followed Deven’s recent appearance at the Spectator’s Conservative Route to Fighting Poverty conference. This Twitter Moment captures some of the key moments from the event.
