Housing is one of the most basic needs that we have but the statistics show that for many people in the UK, they just can't rely on it. Over 100,000 households in England are living in temporary accommodation and unfortunately, two thirds of those are families with children, so the the physical and mental challenges of being in temporary accommodation cannot really be overstated.

In the last year, we have engaged 1,342 households with our Better Off Calculator and we've seen a potential benefit increase of £1,661,886. Not only that, we have worked with Policy in Practice to integrate the Standard Financial Statement to align our income and expenditure with the wider financial services sector.

Someone could be eligible for 20 different things and if they're struggling with mental health associated with debt, that's 20 times that they're repeating their information, 20 times that they're admitting that they need help, which is immensely challenging. People can now apply for support from our utility partners through the Better Off Calculator by entering their information once.
