Universal Credit: making it work for supported housing residents

As Universal Credit full service is rolled out, supported housing residents have to make and manage a Universal Credit claim for their personal needs.

Riverside, YMCA, St Mungo’s and the Salvation Army jointly commissioned Policy in Practice to investigate how Universal Credit would need to be adapted to work in practice for residents in short-term supported housing.

Policy in Practice has undertaken qualitative analysis, a review of relevant literature and a series of discussions with providers, tenants, welfare experts and government officials
