Senior Software Engineer

We're growing our technology team and looking for a Senior Software Engineer who believes in that data and technology can empower people and change lives. This role offers the chance to shape both our engineering culture and the future of a mission driven company while developing your skills.

We’re looking for someone to lead and support our engineering team, taking responsibility for new development work, improving how we operate, and updating our existing technology. If you're experienced, impact driven, and looking for a role where you can take the lead, we'd love to hear from you.

The role will involve a diverse range of activities, including:

- Working as a full stack developer, including front end, back end, CICD, IaC and security, from maintenance and bug fixes to design and release of new features
- Driving the development team, growing junior team members, and helping the team as a whole work well with each other and the rest of the company
- Investing in and improving team skills and practices through co-mentoring, pairing, code review and leading by example
- Communication, stakeholder management and relationship building to support an engineering team that’s known as a trusted partner for marketing, sales, policy & operations and is an integral part of the business
- Shaping the company’s thinking on software, technology, architecture and how to build systems that work for us, for our customers and our users over the long run
- Co-ordinating development through internal relationships with product management, compliance and operational staff
- Managing external technical relationships with eg pen testers, infrastructure specialists, accessibility testers and contractors
- Contributing to technical discussions and scoping of work internally and with clients
- Ensuring the security of data entrusted to the organisation, minimising the risk of security breach, potential data loss or downtime, and engaging in post mortems and follow up when things do go wrong (or right)

As a product focused engineer, you'll work across our entire product range, from calculators to analytics services, helping thousands of people every day. You'll play a key role in scaling our tech, tackling new datasets, and reaching new markets, all while ensuring security and performance.

Our engineering team takes ownership of code quality, workflow efficiency, and service reliability, critical to delivering on our mission. You'll collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, working on a diverse range of projects, including:

- Being an active part of the development team, and helping team members work well with each other and the rest of the company
- Getting involved in a range of activities, including front end, back end, testing, continuous integration and deployment, infrastructure as code and security testing
- Investing in and improving team skills and practices through co-mentoring, pairing, code review and leading by example

Client Services Manager

We’re looking for a highly capable, motivated and public service orientated Client Services Manager, with experience working in the public sector or with a proven track record in a similar or related sector. We need someone who has the passion and drive to make a significant contribution to our continued growth and to the lives of people on the lowest incomes.

You will report directly to the Service Manager of Client Services as a core member of our expanding Growth team. You’ll own the client management role from start to finish, ensuring that we deliver excellent services to our clients.

You will operate at various levels within our client base and must therefore be able to influence at the highest level and build senior relationships quickly. You will work alongside our vibrant team of social policy experts, software technicians and data analysts to provide outstanding service and product delivery, leaving clients delighted.

Your main focus will be to promote our consultancy and software products to contribute to the sales and renewal targets. You will build relationships with decision makers, deliver and oversee the successful use of our LIFT platform, ensuring our clients are able to turn insight into impact.

You’ll be recognised as a trusted advisor by our clients and your work will deepen our relationships with clients and secure repeat business with identifiable opportunities in local and central government.

Media and Campaigns Manager

We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for public service to join us as a Media and Campaigns Manager. You’ll be a smart communicator who understands the power of narrative and message testing. Whether you come from policy advocacy, research or campaigning you’ll thrive on strategic communications that blend data and creativity to influence key decision makers. You’ll lead on brand awareness and media profile, crafting messages that resonate with diverse audiences, from policymakers and journalists to end users.

Working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and occasionally the Founder and Managing Director, you’ll lead campaigns and use both traditional and digital marketing techniques to amplify our work. Your expertise in public affairs and media outreach will shape how we engage with influencers, customers, and critical sectors. You’ll craft and test messages that land with different audiences, engaging stakeholders at all levels.

As part of a small but dynamic marketing team, you’ll support the growth of our activities and impact. Your ability to build relationships quickly and influence at senior levels will be key to driving success across campaigns and aligning messaging with strategic goals.
