Many people who lost their jobs because of the Covid pandemic have turned to the support of the welfare system for the first time. By Christmas last year nearly four million people were on furlough. By January this year six million people were receiving Universal Credit, a staggering 98% increase from March 2020.
With more people chasing a third fewer jobs than before the pandemic, now is a critical time for job seekers and the organisations who support them. DWP has responded by investing over £3.5 billion in employment support to help people back into work as quickly as possible.
All frontline organisations need the best tools to help advisors have motivational conversations with customers, show them how to navigate an overly complex benefit system and demonstrate how they will be better off in work. For Restart Scheme bidders this is a requirement.

One of the reasons we have chosen Policy in Practice's Benefit and Budgeting tool is that it allows you to see, when you put in the postcode, certain things that are available to customers, discounted wifi being one of them.
