Local authorities have a statutory obligation to help vulnerable households, yet the impacts of policy reforms are complex, confusing and change over time.

Policy in Practice’s Tracking Living Standards services use local authority’s existing data to show the impact of policy changes on individual households and to visualise the drivers of poverty, now and in the future.

We help local authorities unlock the insights from their household level data sets. This allows them to benchmark how their area is impacted compared to another similar authority, highlight actions they can take based on what other authorities have done and focus on current and future living standards whilst supporting inclusive growth and understanding the impact of welfare reforms.

You will hear how local authorities can:

  • Forecast the impact of Universal Credit on residents
  • Drive Homelessness Strategy and monitor its effectiveness
  • Monitor the effectiveness of DHP spend
  • Support rent collection
  • Track interventions, including external support, such as referrals to CAB
