Public Administration Committee warns on IT and Universal Credit

The BBC’s Chief Political Correspondent Norman Smith expects that we will ‘still be reading headlines about catastrophic computer projects for years to come.’ and described  the project to place the Universal Credit online as ‘a hugely complicated IT project involving millions of different benefit claims.’

I’m no IT expert, but at the moment I fail to understand exactly why the UC project is seen by so many as being doomed to fail or overrun, can anyone enlighten me?
