With many people working part-time &;  with rising travel costs much or all of the ” better off”   calculation can be negated.

    There certainly is a need to tackle the high and rising cost of living.
    However, the costs of getting to work have to be borne by somebody.
    Should it be the government, the employer or the individual?

    • As the government is advertising universal credit as a means of making work pay, then travel cost should be factored in. Applying a meaningful minimum wage would help. A long term non party political approach to local & national transport is needed. The individual in many instances is struggling & should be careful who they vote for next time.
